GENEALOGY

GENEALOGICAL DATA

The genealogical data of the Doyons of America were collected, through the years, by the four people below.  The combined work of the people involved in this project is close to 50,000 hours.  The fruit of their work is available to you as long as you are a member of the association.

DOMINIQUE DOYON

The initial work was done by Father Dominique M. Doyon, o.p. He concretized his work in a document published in Beauceville, in 1978, and entitled Histoire et généalogie de la famille Doyon (History and genealogy of the Doyon family).

DIANE LESSARD-DOYON

The work of Father Dominique Doyon was taken up and continued by Diane Lessard-Doyon, whose work was concretized by the publication, in 1992, of the book entitled Un bel héritage – Jean Doyon.

SERGE DOYON

In 1994, on the occasion of the 350th anniversary of Jean Doyon’s arrival in America, Serge Doyon (@Michel, @Oram), president of Incotel, computerized the data contained in Father Dominique’s book.

GUY LÉTOURNEAU

In 1995, a miracle happened. Guy Létourneau, son of Madeleine Doyon, devoted his retirement years to the creation of a genealogical dictionary of the large Doyon family of America.  In the form of a voluminous genealogical dictionary.

Constant efforts and determination have generated extraordinary results, under the banner of rigor.
